Congratulations to our prize winners and get a juicy VIP discount on the EMedica MSRA resources using the code radcast
Ho ho ho!
What? Too early? Geez, okay relax! We didn’t realise you were that much of a Grinch.
Now as the days get shorter and the crippling seasonal affective disorder kicks in from having to wake up when it’s dark and leaving work when it’s dark, we hope you’re all managing to find some festive feeling for you know, realising you’ll be doing MSRA revision over Xmas 🙃 But hey, think on the bright side! You can do revision curled up next to the Christmas tree, egg-nog in hand as you hear the melodious holiday carols being sung outside *cries in situational judgement*.
Truth be told, it’s a bit peak but there’s nothing you can do. Just keep your chin up and think long term i.e. put in the graft now so you can be sipping on those boujee gingerbread and cream lattes come next Xmas as a ST1 radiologist (and off the on-call rota)!
So without further ado, let’s get into this edition of the newsletter:
ST3 Radiology Applications Opening Tomorrow (14th November, 10am (GMT))!
For those of you applying to radiology via the ST3 route, please note that the applications for the 2024-2025 entry will open tomorrow (14th November) at 10am (GMT) on Oriel. Based on what we’ve read, there aren’t that many changes compared to last year but we advise you to have a detailed read through the advert on Oriel and make sure you’re eligible. As always, reach out to us via hello@radcast.co.uk if you want any support e.g. portfolio, interview prep.
RadCast National Winners!
Before we go and formally declare our winners, we just want to emphasise how blown away we were by the calibre of entries this year. We had the highest number of entries ever this year for both categories and we had a lot of “heated” debate to pick a winner (don’t worry, we haven’t blocked each other on insta…yet). But, drum roll please, we can announce that the top entries for the RadCast National Prizes were as follows:
Audit/Research Category:
Winner: Dr Jin Kai Soh
Reflection Category:
Winner: Dr Faiza Najeeb
Congratulations to both Dr Jin Kai Soh and Dr Faiza Najeeb on their amazing achievement! We’ve reached out to you both individually with your prize and certification.
Once again, the quality of submissions this year was top notch and you should all be proud of yourselves for even plucking up the courage to submit an entry.
EMedica MSRA Discount Code!
As is the RadCast way, we do our best to build additional resources to help you with your application. For years, one of the hottest areas for discussion is the MSRA. How do you revise for it? How do you build a strategy to smash it? Why do I have nightmares about it? Whilst we can’t help you with the last one, and may be something you need to see a therapist about, we definitely can help you with the first two. That’s why we’re proud to share with you our video on the MSRA with Dr Mahibur Rahman!
For those of you that don’t know, Dr Rahman is not only a GP but also, he’s the Medical Director for EMedica. Now if you’re preparing for the MSRA, you will have 100% heard about the EMedica platform since it’s often one of the top 3 resources used by candidates for prepping (alongside Passmedicine and MCQBank). When we reached out to Dr Rahman, he kindly offered to sit down with us and give us his top tips on getting that competitive MSRA edge but he went one step further with some exclusive discount codes!
Specifically, use the code radcast (lowercase) for a special 10% discount to the Emedica question bank/ online resources and also, a £25 discount for the Emedica live 2 day MSRA Crammer course (www.emedica.co.uk)!

Next Steps:
Going forward, we strongly advise you all to now:
wrap up your applications on Oriel - remember, only shortlisted candidates, based off your MSRA score, will be asked to upload evidence of their achievements in February 2025
go HAM on the MSRA - you probably already are but this should be your only concern as of now
For us, we aren’t taking any breaks. Our main focus now will be:
clearing our backlog and issuing the requested certificates
getting our availability ready for our signature 1-to-1 mock interviews next year
Till next time,
From your “perpetually in the dark” friends,
Uzoma, Jamie and Muhammad
