Shortlisting For Radiology Interviews Are Out!
Information on how to book on for our 1-to-1 practice interview sessions and what to do if you're not successful
Dear All,
You’ve probably had one of the most hectic 48 hours of your life.
For some of you, you have received the great news that you have been shortlisted for a radiology interview and have now been asked to submit your portfolio evidence for verification. For others, you’ve received the horrible news that you have not been successful in reaching the interview stage. Regardless of the outcome, we want to use this opportunity to highlight the support we can offer you here at RadCast. At the end of the day, we want to emphasise that we’ll do our best to guide you through the next steps.
I Didn’t Get Shortlisted
Fu*k.
There’s probably no other way to really put across how you feel apart from the F’word. Whilst it may seem that there is no hope and that your aspirations of a career in radiology are at an end, we want to make it clear that this is not necessarily true. Yes you may not have got in this time but that doesn’t mean you can’t try again. Of course, this decision depends on your individual circumstances but there are plenty of avenues you could explore to help kickstart your preparation for the next application cycle. To help with this, we’re planning on organising a short webinar covering the “next steps” for candidates who weren’t successful in getting shortlisted. Here, we hope to give you an idea of where you should be focusing your attention so that you can maximise your chances of securing a radiology training number in the next application round. To register your interest, please complete the short form by clicking on the button below:
I Got Shortlisted But On The Reserve List
For candidates on the reserve list, it is now a waiting game. Specifically, you will be called up to interview if candidates who made it directly to the interview phase reject their invitation. As a result, this would free up a space on the interview list which would then become available to candidates on the reserve list. It’s most likely the case that candidates on the reserve list will be called up to available interview spaces based on their MSRA score i.e. highest scoring candidate on the reserve list will be first.
I Got Shortlisted For An Interview
Congratulations! You’re at the last hurdle. Now it’s all about bringing your A-game to the interview.
For most of you, the last time you were interviewed was probably when you applied for medical school. Here, you were a bright-eyed 18 year old with so much hope and aspiration to change the world as a “doctor” (that’s why you got the gold in the Duke of Edinburgh of course). Now look at you. Those hopes have been dashed as you’ve “seen the light” and realised that binning the stethoscope/scalpel is the way as a radiologist. We don’t blame you. But, jokes aside, your interview technique is going to be rusty as hell. Since there’s going to be around 600 to 700 odd candidates likely to be interviewed, you need to be slick on the day. That’s why we’re proud to invite you to book onto our 1-to-1 interview practice sessions.
Over the course of the hour long session, we’ll put you in your paces and give you a mock interview that is reflective of the real thing. After going through the questions, we’ll then give you personalised, detailed feedback relevant to your own experiences. No generic waffle but focused, targeted advice to help you with your interview technique. Every year, our available slots go like hot cakes so if you wish to reserve, please do so asap. Once they’re gone, they’re gone. Of course, if none of the sessions tickle your fancy then let us know via email (hello@radcast.co.uk) and we’ll see what we can do (but no promises). As always, feel free to reach out to us via hello@radcast.co.uk if you have any questions.
Take care,
