Maximising Your Radiology Interview: Make Your First Impression Count
Invitation to sign up to our 'Radiology Top Tips' webinar
What’s more intimidating than having to ring the radiologist to request a full body CT (which is clearly not indicated)?
Having to be interviewed by radiologists as part of your application to get a training number 🙃
Yes, my fellow RadCasters, we are at that stage of the application process. For those of you that weren’t shortlisted, please do not think you are alone. We are still, and always will be, here to help and we ask you to sign up to our ‘next steps’ webinar using the link below.
For those of you who were successful in slaying the hideous witch that is the MSRA, we salute you 🫡. Now before you go to frolic in the Sun, you must not get complacent. Remember comrade, we have one final Herculean labour ahead of us. The dreaded radiology interview!
For many of you, the last time you were interviewed was back when you applied to medical school. Back then, you were so optimistic about life. So much potential. So much yearning to change the world. So keen to grasp the stethoscope and be the clinician every patient dreamt out. Ah, to be young again.
Now look at you, doing everything you can to get off the wards and to throw away your stethoscope so you can join us. In the dark room. We don’t blame you for that and actually, we encourage everyone to live a life shaded in grey. But as you now reach the final step of your application process, you need to realise your interview technique is going to be absolutely dog sh*t (pardon our French). With approx 725 candidates entering the gladiator arena, fighting for the glorious ST1 radiology training prize, you really can’t take the chances to YOLO this part of your interview.
Typically at this stage of the interview, we would invite candidates to book onto our much anticipated 1-to-1 radiology interview practice sessions. But, there’s one problem. We kinda erm ran out of slots and like, we ran out of them quick. After last year, we thought we’d play it safe and increase the number of slots we could offer (including bringing on more expert interviewers). But as we found out the hard way, it wasn’t enough and we’re now fully booked.
Whilst extremely flattering to know you trust us so much with your application prep, it’s also extremely annoying for us to be in this situation. Why? Well, because we love doing the interviews and getting to meet you all (virtually). So, naturally it’s frustrating when we have a waiting list of candidates who we can’t accommodate. Trust me, we’ve tried everything including bribery with a radiologist’s favourite beverage: coffee. But alas, it was to no avail and we are at full capacity for the interviews. So what do you do if you weren’t able to get a spot? Don’t fret, RadCast is here to help.
You see, we don’t like knowing we haven’t been able to support each and every one of you. It sucks and makes us sad (Uzoma even weeps). So, we got our thinking hats on at RadCast HQ about what we could do and we’re proud to invite you to our Radiology Top Tips webinar.
Simply put, in this webinar we’ve shared our top tips on how to ace the radiology interview. Why should you enroll? Well collectively, we’ve been supporting candidates with the radiology interview for 5 years now (jeez, we’re getting old) and not to blow our own horn, we think the results and reviews speak for themselves. Plus, we’ve collated feedback from candidates who nailed the interview and sprinkled these pearls of wisdom into the webinar as well. Noice.
Of course, it isn’t the same as our 1-to-1 interview sessions where we can really personalise our interview guidance. Nor do we claim it to be. But at the end of the day, it’s better than going it alone without any real guidance!
So, if you’re interested, you can sign up via the button below. Remember, first impressions count so make sure you nail yours in the interview!
As always, feel free to reach out to us via hello@radcast.co.uk if you have any questions.
Take care,
From your “so, why do you want to be a radiologist” friends,
Jamie, Uzoma and Muhammad
