Emergency Update: New Info About The Radiology Application 2023
Our 'hot' take on the latest info released about the specialty application process for the 2023 cycle
Evening all!
Like most normal humans, we decided to do what everybody else does on a work day evening to unwind, relax and destress…watch a 1 hour webinar from the Medical and Dental Recruitment and Selection Service (MDRS) on the changes to the specialty application process this year.
Now, we’re not going to overwhelm you with every little detail mentioned, since it was really about trying to calm the pitch-fork wielding candidates who were p*ssed off about the MSRA being used for CST applications, but we’ve summarised the main points relevant to your radiology application in November. So, without further ado, let’s get stuck in:
Advertisements for ST1 Radiology will appear by 5pm (GMT) on the 2nd November 2022
Applications for ST1 Radiology will open at 10am (GMT) on the 3rd November 2022
Applications for ST1 Radiology will close at 4pm (GMT) on the 1st December 2022
Dates for the MSRA and interview have yet to be confirmed
Initial offers for ST1 Radiology will be released by 5pm (GMT) on 30th March 2023
There will be no face-to-face interviews for the 2023 application cycle i.e. it’ll be held virtually
Additional points for intercalated degrees have been removed from the Person Specification & portfolio scoring criteria (no comment was made on the points from postgraduate membership exams)
The 2021 CREST form will be accepted for the 2023 application cycle
The updated 2023 application process for specialties will be released on 18th October i.e. next week
So yeah, those were the main updates we thought were relevant to your radiology application. Of course, we’ll keep our eyes peeled and update you accordingly if there is any more updated information released. Till next time,
