Clinical Radiology Application Episode 4 - A New Hope!
Latest Interview Format Released & Last Minute Interview Top Tips Webinar!
Batman once eloquently said “People need hope, to know someone is out there for them". We hope that you can always rely on us to bring you these absolute bangers filled with updates on the radiology application! So without further ado, let’s get right into it:
Interview Format Confirmed For 2025
Eeeeeeeek! It’s finally sinking in, your interview is now only a few days away. Breathe, relax, it’ll all be okay.

For those of you painstakingly waiting for your forthcoming interview, you will have received an email today from the Recruitment Panel with an outline of the interview format. In a nutshell, it seems identical to the previous year with the only difference being that they have removed the titles from Station A (prioritisation of clinical situations) and Station B (specialty skills). Truth be told, they had already disclosed what the format of the interview would be on the official recruitment page so honestly, the Recruitment team this year have given you ample time to prep.

So what does this mean? Well truth be told, we can’t be 100% for certain but for Station A, we would advise all candidates to get comfortable discussing prioritisation of scan requests and/or managing acute clinical scenarios. It was a big curveball when it was introduced last year and truth be told, it isn’t that hard to prepare for. You have been warned! For us, we have no idea where our ALS/ATLS booklet is nor do we even remember the crash team number…it’s 911 right? But you can’t use that excuse yet (it’s solely reserved for radiologists)! So go brush the dust off your ALS/ATLS booklet and read up on your ‘A-to-E’ approach and whilst you’re there, the management of emergencies e.g. 4 H’s and 4 T’s of reversible cardiac arrest. And oh yeah, don’t forget to shout for help. No that was a joke, please don’t start screaming for help during your interview…please.
For Station B, the questions will be focused on you and the skills you bring to radiology. So, make sure you have examples ready about how your the best thing since sliced bread and of course, how you’ve linked your experiences to what you’ve seen in radiology #savinglivesinthedark. Remember, nobody cares for generic answers. Everyone can quote a definition or statistics. The key is what you’ve seen linked to the skills you have.
Last Minute Interview Top Tips Webinar (Saturday 8th March, 13:30 GMT)
Typically at this stage of the application process, we would invite candidates to book onto our much anticipated mock 1-to-1 radiology interview practice sessions. But, there’s one problem. We kinda erm ran out of slots and like, we ran out of them quick. After last year, we thought we’d play it safe and increase the number of slots we could offer (including bringing on more expert interviewers). But as we found out the hard way, it wasn’t enough and we’re now fully booked.
Whilst extremely flattering to know you trust us so much with your application prep, it’s also extremely annoying for us to be in this situation. Why? Well, because we love doing the interviews and getting to meet you all (virtually). So, naturally it’s frustrating when we have a waiting list of candidates who we can’t accommodate. Trust me, we’ve tried everything including bribery with a radiologist’s favourite beverage: coffee. But alas, it was to no avail and we are at full capacity for the interviews. So what do you do if you weren’t able to get a spot? Don’t fret, RadCast is here to help.
You see, we don’t like knowing we haven’t been able to support each and every one of you. It sucks and makes us sad (Uzoma even weeps). So, we got our thinking hats on at RadCast HQ about what we could do and we’re proud to invite you to our Radiology Top Tips webinar on Saturday the 8th of March at 13:30 (GMT).
Simply put, in this webinar we’ll be going through our top tips on how to ace the radiology interview. Why should you enroll? Well collectively, we’ve been supporting candidates with the radiology interview for over 6 years now (jeez, we’re getting old) and over that time period, we’ve been able to collect feedback from candidates who nailed the interview which we’ve been able to condense and sprinkle into the webinar #saltbae.
The webinar will be held on Saturday the 8th of March at 13:30 (GMT) and of course, will be recorded (so you can watch later, on-demand). If you sign up now, you’ll have access to the pre-existing module already released covering our top tips from previous years. There is of course some overlap but we’ll be updating these during the webinar on Saturday. For those of you that have already had a mock 1-to-1 interview with us, this probably isn’t for you since you will have received this advice through our personalised feedback. Rather, it’s for those of you that haven’t been able to book onto a mock 1-to-1 interview practice session with us.
As always, feel free to reach out to us via hello@radcast.co.uk if you have any questions.
Till next time,
From your “what is the role of AI” friends,
